Taught technique: Lace of Valenciennes

The lace of Valenciennes is a lace with continuous wire. The ornament are mainly flowers, sheets. Small Valenciennes were very known and had names: fleur, chapelet, serpentin, crevette.... The funds is very difficult to make because one does not use a pin to maintain the points. The ornament is carried out in toilé. Between the ornament and the fund, there is always an external belt. At the interior of the ornament, there is no bumblebee, but an interior belt.

I had 5 pupils, all very sympathetic nerves and avid of knowing.

Of left on the right: Neus, Lola, Charo, Angela. Detail of a beginning of work

Lola had some difficulties, at the beginning, to carry out the network. Not that it did not understand, but because of its bobins, too heavy for the wire used (120/2). On left with the Spanish bobins, on the right, with the adequate bobins. The tension was better, the result too.
