The international festival of lace and embroidery of Creully (12 and 13juillet 2003)

Monday morning, the program continues by the conference on the "handkerchief". It is within this sumptuous framework that I had the honor to interest all this assembly. And yes, it is incredible what it can exist as anecdotes on this small piece of fabric which is the handkerchief.

I thanked, Claudette to have invited me and to have made me play the lady of the manor by offering one to him limps of, of course, paper handkerchiefs.... but nicely decorated by this small house in patchwork realized by Patricia with the Creative Workshops of Wiers. All the windows and doors were furnished with bobbin laces (Lille) which I had carried out for this occasion.

Always in the topic of the handkerchief, Claudette had prepared this exposure coming from the private collections of Mrs. Brune, Mrs. Marie and Claudette. In detail, an embroidered handkerchief surrounded of a broad lace of Valenciennes encrusted with the traditional method. The other detail a handkerchief richer in embroidery with as characteristic of large rosettes very out of needle-lace.
