Vila do Conde (26 July at August 11)

This year, for the second time, Vila do Conde put at the honor lace at the time of its annual festival of the Craft industry which proceeded of July 26 at August 11. The last meeting international lacemaker went back to 5 years.
When one says " International Rencontre ", they is sometimes some countries of the same continent, here, in Vila do Conde, when one known as International, it is International   judge in rather:
South Africa, England, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Spain, France, Holland, India, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, Slovénie and Switzerland.

But before beginning the visit, I will give you a small council: if you travel by the plane, do not hope to make lace the needle-point, or embroidery during   the flight: all that is likely to be dangerous, that goes from the pins, while passing by the scissors and even the tweezers, all must be put in the luggage with compartment at the risk to be destroyed if you keep them in hand luggage.... I made the experiment of it and fortunately, that finished well.

Let us pass to the report.

This demonstration, the 25th one for the Craft industry part, gathers the Portuguese traditional craft industries, approximately 200 stands of national craftsmen. A gigantic crowd the visit: more than 400 000 visitors awaited over the 15 days! It is magnifiquement organized, I know, I often said it, but this time the research of the perfection is everywhere: since the reception of the exhibitors until the reception of the visitors. And the public returns it well, you will see a photograph, it is impressive.

It is also the occasion to make beautiful and great festival. Various parades animated after midday, and of the folk dances heated the evenings.

The inauguration, without speech, was made by Mr. Pedro Roseta, Minister for the Culture, and Mr. Mario Almeida, Maire of Vila Do Conde.

M the Minister for the Culture visited the totality of the stands, as well Dentelliers as Artisanaux, with each time a word or handshake small. It was delayed a little longer with the French stand, the language was familiar for him and it seems well to know France.
