Novedrate (01 to September 08, 2002)

The lace of Novedrate:

Let us present Ernestina and her school :
Ernestina Marelli is the President of "Comitato Novedratese Promozione del Pizzo", she makes lace since the 5 years age. This association has a center of formation. Between 110 and 120 pupils, come from all the area, follow the courses give by 12 professors. "It Punto Venizia" or "Rococo", the "Biseta", the "Mimosa", the "Ornato", the "Rosaline" is the techniques most often used and thus the base of teaching; the various funds are also studied there.

Here, now, the part reserved for laces of Novedrate. On the walls of the general-purpose room, large red panels. The laces, old or carried out by the pupils, were pinned there: no glass to waste our pleasure.

We will start with some large parts: bed covers (on the left) was offered by a countess in 1930. It is carried out in "Rococo", the tablecloth on the right is in "Biseta", the flowers are in relief.

The paddle of left was produced recently for a priest lately ordered. This one, celebrated its first mass in June 2002 with this paddle. Bottom is decorated with the religious symbols: bread, the chalice of the wine, the dove of peace ...
Bed in "Rococo", on the bed of right-hand side, completion date of the XIXème century, that suspended on the top of the bed is in "Biseta" and has more than 120 years.
