Couvige of Puy in Velay (October 2002)

Marie Massip is titular of a CAPE and a BMA (Patent Trade of Art) option embroidery of gold of Rochefort. It is an embroidery which is carried out using a needle (of the 10, 11 or 12). She works herself at the place, with wire called "Braid". There are three types of braid: chechmate, curly and brilliant. One also finds there the usual technique of the white embroidery, for example the encroaching past. One uses the same trade as to work the pearls and the spangles.

The braid is a small spring in gold wire, it is cut to the length wished before being worked with the needle on the matter of work. The wire is posed on the support, it does not cross fabric. One uses especially furnishing fabric for the support because it is a rather heavy embroidery. It is used for the escutcheons, the religious ornaments..., but also to complete work much more modern (see the following page).

Training courses will be programmed, in 2004, in the Center of Teaching of the Lace of Puy in Velay. There will be 4 levels of 32h each one. When it is known that Marie devoted two years of her life to the teaching of the embroidery with Hanoï, we cannot doubt that they will be of a great quality. You will find all the dates as soon as they are defined.
