The collection of Mrs Marie

Here two completely different handkerchiefs, but, both remarkable for the needlework:

That of right-hand side is made out of lace of Valenciennes that one reconnait at the bottom with square mesh, as by its flowered edge. The large Rosette (see the detail) placed in the angles, achieved by means of a needle, would be of Bretonne origin.

Mrs Marie has some superb Valenciennes: interval in Valenciennes, Badarienne time of the XVIIème century, and in white embroidery for this bonnet.

A band of Valenciennes very charged in reasons dating from the 18th century.

This would be also Valenciennes. Nothing is sure for this golden eagle.
